ASOLO

How to get to Asolo

Asolo is about 20 km from Bassano and cannot be reached by public transport. There is also an excellent route that can be done by bicycle. (Link to Google Maps).

The town of Asolo has remained intact as it appeared 500 years ago. It has always been and still is a favorite destination for VIPs.

Possagno

A short distance from Asolo is Possagno, dominated by the impressive white Neoclassical Tempio Canoviano, designed and financed by Antonio Canova, who was born here in 1757.
To fully discover the works and technique of this great artist, a definite must is the visit to the Gipsoteca, the gallery of the plaster casts that Canova used as models for his marble sculptures.

Villa di Maser

Villa Barbaro at Maser is a Venetian villa, built by Andrea Palladio between 1554 and 1558-1560 ca for the humanist Daniele Barbaro and his brother Marcantonio, ambassadors of the Republic of Venice. It is decorated with a cycle of frescoes, masterpieces by Paolo Veronese.
The villa complex, which also includes a Palladian temple, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
